Termites cause more damage than all fires, storms, tornados, earthquakes and hurricanes combined! That's over $750 million in damage every year. Yet it is the most preventable of all of those disasters. Living in Central Florida means that your home or business is on the termite hit list, and unless you protect yourself, it will be only a matter of time before they strike!

Brooker Pest Control provides complete household pest control services on annual, quaterly or monthly treatment plans.  Common insect problems in our service area include spiders, ants,  roaches, silverfish,  earwigs,  rats and mice.  Our approach is to control infestation problems from the building's exerterior,   preventing insects and rodents from entering dwellings or commercial structures.  We implement our treatments in such a manner that interior exposure to pesticides is kept at an absolute minimum, thereby protecting you and your family members while indoors.

Fumigation gets them all!

If you have seen a home or building wrapped in tarps, you've seen a fumigation in progress. Fumigation is the process that eliminates insects from a structure with the use of a fumigant.

Generally,  tent fumigation is utilized for complete control of drywood termites,  powderpost beetles and old house borers,  all prevalent pest problems in the greater Gainesville area.   This process usually takes three days to complete.  Brooker Pest Control recommends and uses Vikane gas.
In some cases,  localized spot treatments may be recommended.

A complete treatment with a fumigant reaches into every corner of the structure including inaccessible areas, and kills every drywood termite, even those that were never located.

The Process

Before the fumigant is introduced, the structure is completely sealed to contain the fumigant in the building so it can penetrate wood members thoroughly and eliminate the pests.

The average home will usually be covered with tarpaulins, commonly called "tarps". The building will remain sealed for approximately 24 hours, depending upon the specifics of the individual job.

Warning signs are posted around the building notifying people that the property is being fumigated, and to keep out.

After the tarp is removed, a professional fumigator will aerate the structure for 24 hours by opening the doors and windows. The fumigator is required to test the structure to make sure all of the fumigant is removed from the building.
